When I deploy my ASP.NET MVC 4.0 with CRUD operation to Windows Server 2008 R2 which includes DELETE and PUT command through web API, I received http error code 405 Method not Allowed. After searching for solution, I finally find something that works for my case. First, I need to uninstall WebDav publishing or you simply can edit configuration to remove WebDavModule from your applicationHost.config file. However, after I did that, I no longer receive 405 error but instead 500 error, it turns out I still need to remove WebDav mapping from my site's IIS Handler Mappings (instead of allowing all verbs as stated in the article). Hopefully this can help someone debug their ASP.NET MVC issue.
